Art can provide a vehicle to access parts of ourselves that we are unfamiliar with, and express our emotions through all our senses to grow and heal in ways that can bypass our defenses. I use a social justice, relational-cultural, and trauma-informed approach to counseling. My approach is based on the idea that healing occurs in mutually empathic, growth-fostering relationships. I seek to create a safe and trustworthy environment in which choice, collaboration, and empowerment are emphasized by considering your multiple identities. As a clinician, I have extensive experience working with court-ordered clients of all genders in group and individual settings. I have experience working with personality disorders, grief, shame, depression, anxiety, paraphilias, as well as many other ailments. Let me work with you to provide the best care for your therapeutic needs by empowering you to help yourself.
I am a bilingual Art Therapist and can offer sessions in both English and Spanish. I use she/they pronouns and am trained to provide talk and art therapy services through a transpersonal lens. Transpersonal means “beyond the personal,” or dealing with states of consciousness beyond the limits of personal identity. I have a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Transpersonal Art Therapy.
